Predominately through painting I explore the human connections/disconnection with the natural world, one another and the self. Women and children are often at the centre of my work, depicted as mothers or as singular figures connected to the earth.
I fuse multiple truths and paradoxes mixed with unknown energies beyond the human. Fragmented and ambiguous layers of meaning and material connect to the unconscious collective and self. Ultimately everything on earth becomes physical or psychological food or poison.
My work is viewed through a critical lens of our western systems of short term gains, built around neoliberal gods and the accumulation of more than we need, with the effects of growing division, loss of life, destruction and suffering. Everything is connected. Human trauma and it's healing run parallel with that of our earth. But there is always room for redemption like the Art of painting itself.
